23 Year Old Georgia Policeman Dies Suddenly During Foot Chase

Another young man has suddenly collapsed and died following routine physical activity.

Police officer Clarence Williams of Georgia suddenly collapsed during an on-foot chase of a suspect and died.

Officer Williams pulled over a vehicle in a traffic stop when the driver of the car took off on foot.

The cause of death is unknown. It was Williams’ third year on the police force after joining in 2020.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has begun to investigate his death and William’s collapse.

The Cairo Police Department said, “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of one of Cairo’s very own sons and a member of our family here at Cairo PD.”

“Master Patrol Officer Clarence “CJ” Williams passed away while on-duty yesterday afternoon, serving the community he so loved. He joined the department in 2020 and quickly gained the respect and love of all that met him.”

“Officer Williams was assisting a Grady County sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop in the area of 10th Street and Robinson Avenue,” a statement said.

“The subject fled the vehicle, and the officers pursued him. During the chase, Officer Williams collapsed and was unable to be revived.”

The Cairo Police Department memorial post said that Williams “quickly gained the respect and love of all that met him.”
