The Daily Show jokingly suggested that Donald Trump’s recent verbal gaffes are due to him learning “new languages that are being brought into America” – a reference to Trump’s past comments dog-whistling about immigrants bringing “truly foreign languages” to the U.S.
“We have languages coming into our country. We have nobody that even speaks those languages. They’re truly foreign languages,” Trump said.
“Who would think that we have languages that are like from the planet Mars?” he asked.

In a spoof segment, the narrator posited that Trump is incorporating these new words into his vocabulary to eventually become fluent in order to dehumanize immigrant populations in a language they understand, poking fun at Trump’s history of divisive rhetoric around immigration issues.
“As a way to familiarize himself with these new languages, Trump is working some of the new words into his everyday vocabulary,” the narrator said.
“Linguists say it’s only a matter of time before Trump becomes fluent so that he can dehumanize these new populations in a language they understand,” they said.
