Senate Dem Finally Has Enough, Is ‘Furious’ with Biden Admin’s Inaction on Rescuing Stranded Americans

Joe Biden’s own party members are furious with him.

Left-wing Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut is among those becoming increasingly frustrated by the Biden administration.

As it’s been widely reported, Biden abandoned between 100 and 200 Americans in Afghanistan.

To make matters worse, the State Department says there’s nothing they can do because “we do not have personnel on the ground, we do not have air assets in the country, we do not control the airspace.”

Blumenthal says, “I have been deeply frustrated, even furious, at our government’s delay and inaction.”

“There will be plenty of time to seek accountability for the inexcusable bureaucratic red tape that stranded so many of our Afghan allies,” he continued.

“For now, my singular focus remains getting these planes in the air and safely to our airbase in Doha, where they have already been cleared to land.”

Republican Rep. Michael McCaul confirmed a CBS report that there are six planes at the Mazar-i-Sharif airport waiting to leave but the Taliban is stopping them.

McCaul says it’s turned into a “hostage situation” because the Taliban is making demands.

The Taliban is requesting money and legitimacy, McCaul said. They want “full recognition” from the U.S.

Blumenthal is part of an effort to “secure the safe passage of two planes” from the airport, reports The Hill.

“These are Americans citizens and Afghans who risked everything for our country. We cannot leave them behind,” Blumenthal said.
