According to The Daily Wire, the owner of a Florida diner has made it clear that Joe Biden’s supporters are not welcomed at her restaurant.
The final straw for the owner of the DeBary Diner, Angie Ugarte, was the death of the 13 members of the military that were killed during the sudden and polarizing withdrawal from Afghanistan.
After the attack, the business owner hung a sign on her front door encouraging people that still supported Joe Biden to eat at another establishment.
The sign reads: “If you voted for and continue to support and stand behind the worthless, inept and corrupt administration currently inhabiting the White House that is complicit in the death of our servicemen and women in Afghanistan, please take your business elsewhere,”
Ugarte explained that the sign was in support of the Americans left behind in Afghanistan and to display that support to the many veterans that frequently at her diner. She intends on keeping the sign posted until all Americans that were participating in a variety of efforts in Afghanistan were safely returned home.
The sign was admittedly an outburst of anger due to the helplessness Ugarte felt after thinking about the family members of those that were killed.
“I was just angry. I was just let down. I felt like one of those mothers, or wives, or sisters who were gonna get that knock on the door.” Ugarte said to Fox 35 in Orlando.
Adding, “If you really, really still stand behind what’s allowed this to happen and the way it happened – which was unnecessary then I really don’t want to be associated with you in any way and I certainly don’t want your business,”
The diner’s owner has received feedback from supporters of her sign as well as criticism, but she has no plans of taking it down.
Ugarte explained that “I’ve had people come to the door and look at it and turn around and walk away. And I’ve had people come into the kitchen while I’m cooking and say, ‘Hey, I love your sign,’”
ISIS-K has been accused of spearheading the attack on the airport as NATO and the U.S. were attempting to evacuate the country.
The 13 military members were killed by a suicide bomber during an attack on Kabul’s airport along with many Afghan civilians. The U.S. responded with multiple drone strikes in the following days, which resulted in more controversy after along with an alleged ISIS-K strategist, a car of 10 Afghan citizens, including children were killed.
Although hundreds of Americans and thousands of Afghans that worked with the Americans over the past twenty years in the conflict are believed to be stuck in Afghanistan and vulnerable to the Taliban’s violent rule, the Biden Administration has claimed that they possess an “enormous amount of leverage” over the Taliban that will be utilized to free those that were left behind.
