Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman has stated that he will not enforce New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s ban on concealed carry.

The ban, which applies to both open and concealed carry, prohibits the carrying of handguns in public.

D.A. Bregman said, ““As an officer of the court, I cannot and will not enforce something that is clearly unconstitutional.”

“This office will continue to focus on criminals of any age that use guns in the commission of a crime.”

New Mexico state rep. John Block (R) said, “Impeach and remove Lujan Grisham. We even have Elon behind us on this!”

Bregman argues that the ban is unconstitutional and will focus his efforts on prosecuting criminals who use guns in the commission of a crime.

Albuquerque police chief Harold Medina has also announced that he will not enforce the ban.

The National Association of Gun Rights has filed a lawsuit challenging the order in a U.S. District Court.
