In a matter of days, over 10,000 migrants were stopped at the United States-Mexico border.

These are unprecedented and historic numbers at the border.

Over the past several weeks, the surge of illegal immigrants has continued to overwhelm border patrol and fill the streets of border towns. (Trending: Kari Lake Blasts ‘Woke’ NFL)

“Per CBP sources, in the last 24 hours alone, over 10,000 migrants were encountered at the border, bringing us back to the all time record high levels we last saw in May before the end of Title 42,” Bill Melugin of Fox News reported on Thursday.

Melugin clarified that “8,500+ were Border Patrol apprehensions, 1,600+ at CBP ports of entry.”

Border Patrol agents spent some of their time pulling drowned children from the river.

Melugin said the “free for all” at the border mostly consists of Venezuelan migrants, almost all of whom are male.

The Biden Administration is has been less than motivated in securing the border, as the White House has just released a new program that will be providing work permits to almost 500,000 Venezuelans currently here illegally.

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas will be giving “Temporary Protected Status” for all Venezuelans who have been in the States on or prior to the 31st of July. The protected status will last for 18 months, unless Mayorkas decides to simply extend it yet again, as is typically seen. The protection is meant for those who are unable to return to their country of residence due to various reasons, such as conflict, economic instability, or major disasters. Unsurprisingly, the ambiguity of the restrictions of who can receive Temporary Protected Status has often allowed for abuse of the system, providing amnesty for hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants over the years.
