Try Not to Gasp: Thousands of Migrants Cross Border in 6 Hours

Over 1,500 illegal immigrants arrived in Eagle Pass, Texas in a matter of hours.

This is substantially more than last week’s single-day record of roughly 1,300, which has completely overwhelmed Border Control’s capabilities.

This surge of 1,500 has officially crippled the local processing center, which is meant to be capped at around 1,000 migrants. It’s currently holding around 3,000.

Migrants will now have no choice but to be kept outside as the authorities prepare for additional surges coming in the near future.

It was reported by Breitbart that Eagle Pass’s single day record has passed any previous records of the Border Patrol.

“In just one eight-hour shift, more than 700 migrants were taken into custody” Breitbart’s source stated. “We lack the capacity to deal with it. This system is broken.”

1,200 more migrants were stopped prior to crossing just days after the Eagle Pass surge, and are expected to make more attempts to cross over.

Just 2 miles away from the Camino Real Port of Entry, BP agents have stopped an additional 1,000 individuals. Needless to say, the agency is quickly becoming overwhelmed by the crisis.

In addition to the surges of migrants, temperatures in the area have been hitting the mid-90s as well.

Over 3,000 migrants have been held at the only soft-sided processing space in Texas, which is far over its capacity, despite a hefty $6 million-per month budget.

All 1,000 of the individuals kept south of the entry point were ultimately removed.
