Democrat Rep. Jamaal Bowman of New York may be soon expelled from Congress after he pulled a fire alarm to allegedly delay a critical vote on a government funding bill.
Emergency services responded to the alarm as the building was evacuated.

Bowman has denied the allegations by claiming he was confused.
Expulsion is the most serious form of disciplinary action available to the House for its own members.
Only five members have been expelled from the House in history.

Bowman’s actions are under investigation by the House Administration Committee and the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP).
Speaker Kevin McCarthy said, “This is an embarrassment. You’re elected to be a member of Congress.”
