Black Democrats Furious at Gavin Newsom

Leading black Democrats are criticizing California Demoncrat Gov. Gavin Newsom for nominating Laphonza Butler of Maryland to fill Dianne Feinstein’s Senate vacancy.

Butler is accused of living in Maryland and isn’t even registered to vote in California.

Although Butler has a home in California, critics say she isn’t constitutionally eligible to replace Feinstein. (Trending: Woman Raised in USSR Says Biden’s DOJ Acts Like KGB)

“It’s going to hurt him,” Fred Jordan, chairman of the board of the San Francisco African American Chamber of Commerce, said. “Those women in South Carolina that gave Joe Biden the bump, they’re gonna be outraged.”

Jordan called Newsom’s appointment of Butler “disingenuous” and said he “has not fulfilled his promise” to appoint a black woman to the seat.

Jordan says he wanted Newsom to appoint Barbara Lee Lee, who he called “the most qualified” person. (Trending: Trump Makes The Biggest Promise Of His Political Career)

Molly Watson, deputy director of California Donor Table and a board member for the Black Women’s Democratic Club of Los Angeles County, said she was “baffled” that Newsom did not choose Lee.
