Biographer Michael Lewis alleged that former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried attempted to write Donald Trump a check in the likes of 10-figures to refrain from running for President in 2024.

Lewis said the “number that was kicking around when I was talking to Sam about this was $5 billion.”

“Sam wasn’t sure that number came directly from Trump.” (Trending: Navy SEAL Says Joe Biden Is A Disgrace

Lewis’s book, “Going Infinite: The Rise and Fall of a New Tycoon,” comes out this week. He is most known for his book, “The Big Short.”

The author said the potential offer was being discussed when FTX was at its peak, but ultimately died when FTX collapsed, along with numerous allegations against Bankman-Fried.

Referencing the potential offer, Lewis said “That only shocks you if you don’t know Sam.” (Trending: 95-Year-Old Veteran Kicked Out of Nursing Home For Illegal Immigrant)

Bankman-Fried gave more than $100 million in funds to 2022 Democrats, all of which was acquired fraudulently.

The former tech giant’s trial begins this week.
