Whoopi Goldberg came head-to-head with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) on “The View” when the co-host questioned the lawmaker as to why she was “held to someone else’s religious beliefs” when it came to abortion laws.

Golberg pressed Mace, asking whether she desired for the government to direct her in the ways she raises her children.

“I don’t want the government-” Mace said before Goldberg interjected. (Trending: Trump Makes The Biggest Promise Of His Political Career)

“Because the law says you don’t – no law says you have to have an abortion. No law – there’s no law on the books that says you have to have an abortion,” Goldberg went on.

“Isn’t that my choice if my doctor and I feel that’s the best way for me – because if I’m a nice Jewish girl or if I’m a girl who has a different religious belief, why am I being held to someone else’s religious beliefs?” Goldberg exclaimed.

Mace pressed back saying that “at some point” babies should be allowed the “right to life.”

“But that’s your belief,” Goldberg shot back.

“But those who want the government to pay for it have the government in the room with the doctor and the woman. You can’t have it both ways,” Mace responded.

“Isn’t that your choice to make that decision? Why do you want me to go with your belief when that is not my belief? That’s the part I’m trying to understand,” Goldberg said.

Mace then highlighted states such as New York and California, where abortions are allowed at up to 36 weeks of gestation. The lawmaker then emphasized the fact that states hold the power to vote on whatever limitations they want. (Trending: Woman Raised in USSR Says Biden’s DOJ Acts Like KGB)

“No one, no one, no doctor, no hospital, no one will take a baby at nine months for an abortion. I’m telling you,” Goldberg snapped.

The South Carolina Republican then mentioned a handful of Democratic leaders including Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, who are yet to have made a public stance on what limitations they feel should be set.
