Obama Thanks Pro-Palestine Activists For ‘Pushing Him’ To Change Views On Israel

Former President Barack Obama acknowledged that he had modified his position on Israel’s conflict with Hamas due to criticism from activists and supporters.

Initially, he had supported Israel in dismantling Hamas, but later criticized Israel’s approach and emphasized the need for a two-state solution and an end to “occupation.”

“I had a conversation with a group of you around this issue, and you were passionate and pushed me around some of the public statements I’d made,” Obama stated to activists.

Obama did not differentiate morally between the Hamas attack and the Israeli response, attributing both to the failure to reach a solution.

He also mentioned his commitment to building a better future through his democracy forum.
