Former first lady Melania Trump made a rare public appearance at a naturalization ceremony, speaking about her personal challenges in becoming a US citizen and empathizing with the difficulties immigrants face.

Despite her husband’s hard-line immigration stance, she didn’t mention him.

“My personal experience of traversing the challenges of the immigration process opened my eyes to the harsh realities people face, including you, who try to become US citizens,” Melania said. (Trending: Devastating News For Hunter Biden After Defying Subpoena)

“The pathway to citizenship is arduous,” she added.

“My life turned into labyrinth of organizing paperwork.”

Her appearance comes amid her husband’s legal issues, and she has largely avoided public events since leaving the White House, focusing on her son.

“He has my support, and we look forward to restoring hope for the future and leading America with love and strength,” she said.

While she has shown support for her husband’s presidential bid, she remains private and has not actively participated in his campaign events.

“When it’s appropriate, but pretty soon,” Trump said of Melania’s presence on his campaign.

“She’s a private person, a great person, a very confident person and she loves our country very much. … And honestly, I like to keep her away from it. It’s so nasty and so mean.”
