Entrepreneur Mark Cuban sparked controversy with his defense of President Joe Biden’s competency following a concerning incident at a fundraiser.
Biden froze during an ovation, prompting Barack Obama’s intervention and raising doubts about Biden’s fitness for office.
Social media erupted with criticism from figures like Piers Morgan and Bill Ackman, questioning Biden’s leadership abilities due to age-related moments of confusion.
“The Democrats can’t let this go on surely?” Morgan wrote.
“Some people are old at 81, and others are sharp,” Ackman said.
“I have been criticized by some for sharing these Biden videos which appear almost every day. I have read numerous articles which somehow suggest that the camera angle, the duration of the clip or some form of right wing manipulation explains Biden’s behavior on camera,” Ackman wrote.
“You guys both, @piersmorgan, @BillAckman, are so consumed with pandering to your twitter followers, you have lost all objectivity. I’ll let you both in on a secret. BOTH CANDIDATES ARE OLD. VERY OLD. They both are going to have senior moments, mis-remember, forget,” Cuban wrote online.
“I think Bill and I more consumed with reality than you seem to be, Mr Cuban!” Morgan responded.
“You are 59. I’m 65. Guess what. Both of our hearing is going to decline,” Cuban wrote. “There are going to be things we dont hear well. Don’t see as well. Words that don’t come as easily. Things that hurt when we move and slow us down. Things we forget and have to make a note of. Now imagine being 78 and 81.”
Cuban’s dismissive response defending Biden by highlighting both candidates’ age-related vulnerabilities faced backlash, with critics emphasizing the importance of vigor and quick decision-making in leadership, beyond mere articulation.
