Donald Trump Jr.: Sentencing Date ‘Election Interference’

via Politico

Donald Trump Jr. criticized the July 11 sentencing date for his father Donald Trump’s business records trial as another form of election interference, as it falls just four days before the Republican National Convention from July 15-18.

Others agreed the case, verdict, and trial timing amounted to lawfare or election interference against Trump by the political left.

Judge Juan Merchan set the sentencing date on July 11 at 10 AM Eastern, just ahead of the convention where Trump is expected to be formally nominated as the GOP presidential candidate again.

Trump Jr. exclaimed the timing showed attempts to interfere in the election were “not even trying to hide.”

“Sentencing is 4 days before the GOP Convention…They’re not even trying to hide the ELECTION INTERFERENCE!!!!” Trump Jr. said.

Criticism centered on the proceedings being a way for the left to politically target Trump.
