Sharon Stone Says She May Move to Europe if Trump Wins

via TRT World

Sharon Stone has expressed her intention to consider moving to Europe if former President Donald Trump wins the 2024 election, during an interview at the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily where she received a lifetime achievement award.

Although she did not mention Trump by name, she criticized political candidates whose platforms promote hate, stating that this is a new and concerning phenomenon in American politics.

“Well I’m certainly considering a house here, and I think that’s an intelligent construct at this time,” Stone said.

“Well naturally. Naturally. When we see presidential candidates whose platform is hate, that’s something that I don’t feel our country has faced before. We faced political candidates whose platform was ignorance. But I don’t think we’ve seen political candidates whose outright platform was hatred.”

Stone emphasized her deep concern for the current state of the country, remarking that it is unprecedented to see a candidate running on a platform of hate and oppression.

“Every country historically goes through a period where someone wants to own their country. And in many cases people do. […] Of course I am deeply concerned with what’s happening in my country right now,” Stone said. “This is one of the first times in my life that Iv’e actually seen anyone running for office on a platform of hate and oppression.”

This sentiment echoes similar declarations made by various Hollywood celebrities during the 2016 election, although most did not follow through on their promises to leave the U.S. if Trump won.
