GOP Senate Candidate Slams Kamala in Attack Ad

via PBS

Republican Senate candidate for Pennsylvania, Dave McCormick, released a campaign ad targeting his opponent, Senator Bob Casey, by highlighting Casey’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris.

The ad features Casey praising Harris’s capabilities but quickly contrasts this with her left-wing policy positions, noting that she was rated the most progressive senator by a nonpartisan group.

“Kamala Harris is inspiring and very capable… The more people get to know her, they’re going to be particularly impressed by her ability,” Senator Bob Casey says in the beginning of the ad.

Key issues addressed in the ad include Harris’s support for drastic climate change measures like banning fracking in Pennsylvania, advocating for decriminalization of illegal immigration and free healthcare for undocumented individuals, and her calls to redirect police funding during civil unrest.

“I am prepared to get rid of the filibuster to pass a Green New Deal,” Harris says.

The ad also criticizes Harris’s views on criminal justice, including her past support for restoring voting rights for those convicted of serious crimes.

“I think we should have that conversation,” she says when asked about restoring the voting rights of rapists and murderers.

“We have to have a buyback program and I support a mandatory buyback program,” Harris says regarding gun confiscation.

The ad ends with Casey’s endorsement and a clip of Harris celebrating the Biden election victory.
