COVER UP: GovTrack Erases Ranking of Harris as 2019 ‘Most Liberal Senator’

The 2019 GovTrack ranking that labeled Vice President Kamala Harris as the “most liberal senator” has been deleted from the website.

GovTrack’s founder, Joshua Tauberer, clarified that the list was based on a single calendar year, which they no longer consider sufficient for an accurate portrayal of legislators’ activities.

“We’re one of the oldest government transparency websites in the world,” the website states.

In the original report, Harris ranked #100, with Sen. Bernie Sanders following at #99.

Additionally, recent reports have pointed out discrepancies regarding Harris’s past titles, including her being referred to as the “border czar.”

The development comes just after President Biden endorsed Harris as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee following his withdrawal from the race, supported by various prominent Democrats.

The media’s portrayal of Vice President Kamala Harris’s role in addressing illegal immigration has shifted significantly since 2021.

Initially, she was widely referred to as the “border czar,” tasked by President Biden with stemming the surge of migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border and addressing root causes of migration from Central America.

However, recent reports claim she was never officially designated as “border czar” and that her responsibilities did not include controlling immigration flows, a role attributed to the Homeland Security secretary.

Critics argued that such a narrative change is an attempt to deflect blame for the ongoing immigration crisis and downplay Harris’s earlier responsibilities as outlined by various media outlets at the time.

Reports have shed light on the perceived inconsistency in how Harris’s role is framed by the media and the administration, raising concerns about accountability and the effectiveness of their immigration policies.
