The Harris for President campaign released its first official video titled “We Choose Freedom” shortly after Kamala Harris was elevated to replace President Joe Biden.
The ad, which debuted on her social media platforms, portrays Harris as a “peacemaker” in contrast to the “fear and chaos” associated with her opponent.
It features images of Harris smiling, the American flag, and “Progress Pride” flags, accompanied by Beyoncé’s song “Freedom,” for which Harris reportedly received permission to use.
The video narrates various progressive themes, including support for abortion rights and trans pride, while also referencing legal challenges faced by former President Donald Trump.
Although Beyoncé did not explicitly endorse Harris, her approval of the song is seen as a tacit endorsement, given her history of supporting Democratic candidates.
