Trans Gender Scandal Erupts at Olympics

DNA tests allegedly reveal a number of athletes are “posing as women” at the Olympics while tests show they have XY chromosomes.

“We identified a number of athletes who tried to trick their colleagues into posing as women,” IBA president Umar Kremlin said.

“According to the results of the tests, it was proved that they have XY chromosomes. Such athletes were excluded from competition,” he said.

Two boxers at the center of scandal are Algeria’s Imane Khelif and Taiwan’s Lin Yu-Ting. They were previously disqualified for failing to meet eligibility requirements to compete in women’s matches last year.

Despite this scandal, they are competing in the Paris Olympics.

They will compete for medals in the women’s 66-kilogram and women’s 57-kilogram matches, despite significant controversy.

In 2023, they were disqualified during the women’s world championships by the International Boxing Association.

The IBA said both fighters failed to meet eligibility criteria to box against women. They also had high levels of testosterone.

Lin’s bronze medal was stripped after failing to meet IBA eligibility criteria.
