Biden Headed to Situation Room Ahead of Iran’s Anticipated Attack On Israel

via ABC

President Biden is convening his national security team, including Vice President Kamala Harris, in response to rising tensions and an anticipated Iranian attack on Israel.

The meeting follows a call between Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, emphasizing U.S. support for Israel and preparations to enhance its defense.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel is in a “multi-front war” with Iran and its proxies, as regional tensions escalate after the deaths of key military leaders.

“For years, Iran has been arming and financing terrorist organizations across the Middle East, including smuggling explosives into Israeli territory for terror attacks against civilians,” IDF Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stated. “The IDF and ISA have already thwarted numerous attacks in which Claymore type explosives were smuggled into the country’s territory. We are determined to continue acting against Iranian terrorism wherever it may be.”

Secretary of State Antony Blinken has warned that Iranian and Hezbollah forces could strike Israel imminently, prompting heightened U.S. military readiness in the region.

Amid ongoing conflict in Gaza, where significant casualties and destruction have occurred, both Hezbollah and Israel have intensified their exchanges along the Lebanon border, further complicating the situation.
