Former President Donald Trump has gained a massive lead in Nate Silver’s 2024 election forecast, with a 61.6% chance of winning the Electoral College as of September 6.
This marks a significant increase from previous weeks, especially after the ABC News debate, which may be the only one between Trump and Vice President Harris before the election.
Silver was already giving Trump a 60.1% chance of winning the Electoral College, which has now increased to 61.6 percent.
Harris has a 49.9 percent chance of winning the popular vote while Trump trails behind at 49 percent.
Post-debate polls suggest a divided opinion on the winner, with many indicating Trump as the clear victor.
The debate faced criticism for biased moderation, as moderators allegedly allowed Harris to make several false claims while frequently fact-checking Trump.
