Robert De Niro suffered a meltdown worse than usual as he resumed criticizing former President Donald Trump, recently participating in a fundraiser for Kamala Harris and an interview with CNN’s Chris Wallace.
During the interview, De Niro expressed his belief that Trump would never relinquish power if re-elected, referencing claims from a book by Maggie Haberman.
“You know he won’t,” De Niro said. “He even said it. He’s never going to give it up. And anyone who deludes himself thinking that he is, shame on you! He thinks he’s a gangster,” the actor replied. “He does everything like a gangster. I don’t think gangsters of that world would think much of him because there’s honor among thieves.”

When asked if he ever met Trump in the 1980s or ’90s in New York, De Niro responded, “No. I never wanted anything to do with him. He’s a jerk, an idiot. Who wants to meet a clown like that?”
He also reiterated his comparisons of the Trump family to gangsters, stating that Trump acts like one but lacks the honor typically associated with that world.
De Niro led a fundraiser that raised $40,000 for Harris, warning Democrats to remain vigilant as the election approaches.
He has previously voiced concerns about a potential second Trump presidency.
