Vice President Kamala Harris’s recent interview with MSNBC was heavily criticized for having a staged construction site background, which many deemed absurd and insulting.
Social media users mocked the setting, suggesting it was an ineffective attempt to portray her as relatable to the working class.
“Where does the ladder go to? Where are the construction hats!?The pandering is asinine,” one X user wrote.
“I can’t get past the construction zone in the background… Like casually strewn power tools around the room will suddenly convince us of just how middle class and down to earth Kamala is? It’s bizarre,” another X user commented.
“Kamala doing an MSNBC interview in front of a fake construction set is just hilarious… ‘Look how MIDDLE CLASS she is!’” one X user quipped.
“Whoever came up with the background for the Kamala Harris interview should be fired,” another pressed.
Critics also noted that the contrived environment was merely a distraction from Harris’ words. Numerous conservatives have noted that Harris’ has remained largely avoidant of unscripted press interactions.
Critics believed Harris’ interview ultimately conveyed a lack of respect for voters, and exposed Harris’ apparent belief that such tactics would actually deceive the public.
