The publication of a video depicting the last moments of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has led some leftist commentators to argue it could motivate further acts of terrorism.
The footage, however, reveals Sinwar’s desperate defeat.
“It’s very good“, Iraeli citizen Nissim Weizmann said. “He’s a bad man and his time has come. This is a present for everyone. Both Palestinians who are with us and the Jews.”
Sinwar, responsible for the October 7 massacre of approximately 1,200 Jews, was tracked down and killed by an Israeli sniper after attempting to evade capture in Rafah.
His end, marked by desperation as he futilely tried to defend himself against an Israeli drone, was a satisfactory ending for many, including Palestinians.
“I opposed [Sinwar] while he was alive and hold him equally responsible, alongside the Israeli occupation, for my suffering and that of 2.3 million Palestinians,” Palestinian Lina Anuni said.
Despite some attempts to frame his demise as heroic, many believe his end was a justified retribution against a man who welcomed the deaths of innocent people.
