Trump Taps Tulsi Gabbard for Crucial Role in Cabinet

President-elect Donald Trump has selected Tulsi Gabbard, a former representative from Hawaii, to serve as the Director of National Intelligence (DNI).

Trump praised Gabbard for her two decades of service and her broad support across party lines, highlighting her commitment to constitutional rights and national security.

“For over two decades, Tulsi has fought for our Country and the Freedoms of all Americans. As a former Candidate for the Democrat Presidential Nomination, she has broad support in both Parties — She is now a proud Republican!” Trump said.

“I know Tulsi will bring the fearless spirit that has defined her illustrious career to our Intelligence Community, championing our Constitutional Rights, and securing Peace through Strength,” he added.

Gabbard responded, posting on X, “Thank you, [Donald Trump], for the opportunity to serve as a member of your cabinet to defend the safety, security and freedom of the American people. I look forward to getting to work.”

Gabbard, a former Democratic presidential candidate who recently switched to the Republican Party, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in Trump’s cabinet.

She has a military background, including a deployment to Iraq and service on the Armed Services Committee during her time in Congress.

This announcement follows Trump’s selection of former Texas Representative John Ratcliffe as head of the CIA.
