Lara Trump is resigning from her position as co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) following her contributions to the party’s notable successes in the 2024 elections. She is considering a Senate run to replace Marco Rubio, who is expected to become secretary of state.
Lara has expressed interest in this opportunity, stating she would seriously consider it. Lara said, “It is something I would seriously consider.”
She added, “If I’m being completely transparent, I don’t know exactly what that would look like. And I certainly want to get all of the information possible if that is something that’s real for me. But yeah, I would 100% consider it.”
Maye Musk, mother of Elon Musk, stated, “The Senate is an old man’s club. We desperately need a smart, young, outspoken woman who will reveal their secrets.”
Elon Musk wrote, “Lara Trump is genuinely great.”
During her tenure at the RNC, she helped expand the party’s legal efforts and mobilized over 25,000 volunteers for voter outreach.
Lara also supports her father-in-law’s initiatives to reduce government size and anticipates fewer family members involved in a potential second Trump administration. She said, “With that big win, I kind of feel like my time is up.”
Lara stated, “I really don’t think we’ve seen movement like this in our federal government since our country’s founding in many ways.”
Lara added, “And I think if they are successful in what they plan to do, I think it is going to be transformative to America in a great way.”
Lara said, “He really wants to get in there and do a good job for the four years, and that’s all he wants to serve. Four years, and he’s out.”
