Janis Timma, a 32-year-old Latvian basketball player, was discovered deceased in Moscow, and initial investigations indicate that his death may have been a suicide. His body was discovered in a high-rise residential complex where he had been living.
The news has prompted reactions from the sports community, including an emotional video from his ex-wife, Anna Sedokova, who urged privacy for their child and expressed her struggles over the past few years.
Sedokova, Ukrainian actress, said, “I’ve wondered my whole life how people who have something like this happen to them can still post stories and now, I’m asking you very strongly – I have a child, he’s small, he doesn’t need to know any of this.”
Sedokova added, “You have no idea what hell I have lived through over the last few years.”
Sedokova said, “I just have to save my child from this information. If you can, please keep it to yourself.”
Timma had a successful international career, playing for teams like Zenit Saint Petersburg and Khimki Moscow, and was known for his scoring ability.
He was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2013 and later played in the NBA G League. Recently, he had been involved in 3×3 basketball.
