President-elect Donald Trump has named Brian Burch, the head of CatholicVote, as his choice for U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See.
Trump praised Burch for his devout Catholic faith, leadership in Catholic advocacy, and his role in mobilizing Catholic voters during the 2024 election.
Burch is known for championing pro-life policies and traditional family values, and he is expected to face minimal opposition during the Senate confirmation process.
In response to his nomination, Burch expressed gratitude and emphasized the importance of the Catholic Church’s relationship with the U.S.
“Brian is a devout Catholic, a father of nine, and President of CatholicVote,” Trump wrote. “He has received numerous awards and demonstrated exceptional leadership, helping build one of the largest Catholic advocacy groups in the country.”
“He represented me well during the last election, having garnered more Catholic votes than any presidential candidate in history!”
