On a recent broadcast of ABC’s *The View*, co-host Sunny Hostin drew parallels between the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot and significant historical atrocities such as the Holocaust and chattel slavery.
As the panel discussed accountability in politics, Hostin criticized Republican leaders for their changing stances on the event, calling January 6 “one of the worst moments in American history.”
Her extreme rhetoric has drawn criticism in the past, raising concerns about the show’s ability to facilitate balanced discussions.
“January 6th was an atrocity,” Hostin said. “It was one of the worst moments in American history.”
“When you think about the worst moments in American history, you know, like World War II, things that happened, you know, like the Holocaust, chattel slavery—we need to never forget because past becomes prologue if you forget and erase.”
