President Joe Biden’s administration is allocating $504 million in funding to twelve technology hubs across states such as New York, Florida, South Carolina, and Nevada, aiming to enhance research in areas like AI, semiconductor manufacturing, and clean energy.
The grants are part of initiatives like the Chips Inflation Reduction Act and aim to support various technological advancements nationwide.
“There are smart people, great entrepreneurs and leading-edge research institutions all across the country, and we’re leaving so much potential on the table if we don’t get them the resources to compete and win,” Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said.
Despite some budget limitations, these allocations underscore the administration’s commitment to boosting innovation and competitiveness in key tech sectors, aligning with broader economic goals amid ongoing challenges and criticisms.
