Soros Approves: Billionaire Donors Vow to Back Kamala’s Run

via Bloomberg

Following President Joe Biden’s announcement to withdraw from the presidential race, left-wing billionaire donors have pledged their support for Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign.

Prominent backers, including George Soros and Reid Hoffman, have quickly endorsed her candidacy, signaling strong financial backing from the Democratic Party’s wealthiest contributors.

Democratic bundler Gretchen Sisson noted a surge of enthusiasm among potential donors, with many eager to support Harris.

“My phone is exploding,” Sisson said. “Lots of folks are asking where to contribute, what they can do to support the campaign, and wanting to write more. People who were committed but worried are now excited and energized.”

Groups like Emily’s List and Way to Win, which promote women candidates and other progressive causes, have also offered their endorsements.

According to reports, the fundraising climate is expected to improve significantly for Harris, with many major donors poised to contribute now that Biden’s situation has changed.

“The floodgates will open,” Biden Victory Fund finance chair Chris Korge said. “There’s been a lot of people holding back contributions that will now contribute because the whole thing — that whole situation was paralyzing our fundraising.”

Harris has historically drawn support from affluent areas, particularly in California, where her previous campaign was largely funded by wealthy donors from law, tech, and finance sectors.
