Secret Service Communication Breakdown Exposed in Radio Transcript

via Fox

Transcripts of law enforcement communications from a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, reveal significant isolation between local and federal law enforcement agencies, particularly impacting their ability to share critical information.

Spotty cellular service in the area hindered timely transmission of alerts, such as a local officer’s warning about a suspicious individual, Thomas Crooks, who later shot at Trump from a nearby building, killing a firefighter in the process.

The communication breakdown occurred as local officers operated separately from Secret Service details, necessitating relay messages through cellphones.

Local law enforcement expressed concerns that their warnings went unheeded by federal agents, emphasizing the need for better coordination.

In response to the incident, Secret Service officials stated they are committed to a thorough investigation to prevent future occurrences.

The USSS is “committed to better understanding what happened before, during, and after the assassination attempt of former President Trump to ensure that it never happens again,” Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said.

“This includes a robust mission assurance investigation by our Office of Professional Responsibility that will meticulously examine all aspects of the event and complete cooperation with Congress, the FBI and other relevant investigations.”
