Chelsea Clinton is reportedly interested in becoming the U.S. ambassador to the UK if Kamala Harris wins the presidency in November, with sources indicating that the Clintons have been pursuing this ambition for some time.
While Chelsea, vice chair of the Clinton Foundation, has expressed a desire for the UK position, it is noted that such roles typically go to individuals with more experience or significant fundraising backgrounds.
“Chelsea really wants to be the ambassador to the UK,” an inside source stated. “There’s a reason why Bill and Hillary came out in the first five minutes to support Kamala’s presidential bid — they were currying favor.”

Chelsea, who studied at the University of Oxford, is also open to other ambassadorships, including one in France.
“I can well imagine that the UK ambassadorship is an aspiration for Chelsea, although she is a bit junior still — and London usually goes to a massive donor or fundraiser,” one longtime British embassy official stated.
“It is, of course, fantasy land,” the insider said.
Current UK Ambassador Jane Hartley, a seasoned fundraiser, has held the position since 2022 after former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg declined the role.
